Every student is unique
and their curriculum should be, too!
The design of each student’s individualized curriculum starts before the first session even begins!
Lantana Learning Solutions takes care to get to know each student’s interests, strengths and weaknesses in the classroom in order to create the highest-impact materials possible for each learner.
The Process

A Typical Session
Tutorials are offered in 1 hour, 1.5 hour, and 2 hour increments. Although the curriculum will vary depending on the time, here’s an example of a typical 1.5 hour tutorial.
-
Students will begin by reviewing foundational material needed for the lesson.
-
Students will then complete a short 5 minute review practice problem set.
-
Students will be lead through a PowerPoint mini-lesson with teacher-led examples and built in learner activities.
-
Learners will complete a practice set of problems, usually in a worksheet form.
-
At the end of each tutorial, students will play a review game that covers important material from the day.
-
At the end of the session we will review and chart our goal progress, go over suggested practice problems, and review the tutor report together.
Providing Feedback
Students learn best when given frequent, specific, constructive feedback about their progress. Not only does it allow gaps in learning to be addressed quickly, but it encourages a growth mindset.
After each tutorial, a tutor report will be provided that gives an overview of the lesson goals, activities, suggested practice, and general comments about the scholar’s progress.
